As we know that 5 September is very close now, so all the teachers are getting ready to receive different kinds of gifts from their well wishers. Ministry of Human Resource Development has decided that three UT teachers will be honored by the national award on this big occasion. The selected teachers are from the government schools and having wide experience of teaching in their career.
The names of the teachers are Om Parkash Manauli, Indu Bala & Neerja Jain. Below are some of their achievements and about their past history in teaching profession.
Om Parkash Manauli is an environment teacher at Government Model Senior secondary School (GMSSS) Sector 46. He is also a writer and a philanthropist. He is presently the chief coordinator and in-charge of all Eco-Clubs in Chandigarh government schools. He got Special Achievement Award in 2011. He also received state award on Teacher’s Day in 1997 in public recognition of his services to the community as a teacher of outstanding merit. Education Department of Chandigarh awarded him Certificate of Merit on Teacher’s Day 1996.
Indu Bala works in Sarthak government integrated model senior secondary at Panchkula. She began her career in 1989 as a teacher of political science. She has provided free uniforms and books to a number of needy students whose financial conditions are poor. She is currently the principal of Sarthak School.
Neerja Jain is English teacher in a Government Model Senior School (GMSSS) from last 23 years. She has conducted many teacher training workshops in government schools. She has been guiding her students in achieving excellence in academics and all forms of extra-curricular activities. She has been honored by many different kinds of awards and she has visited many foreign countries for researches.
They will receive the national award from Indian President Pratibha Devi Patil on 5th September 2011. It will be great pride for them and their family as they have given their full contribution by teaching the government schools. We always need these types of teachers who teach with full hard work, dedication and determination. They are really good examples in the teaching profession.
