Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on MP PET 2013...

Students Who are interested to enter in the Indian Institute of Management will know how the weightage will be assigned for the score in CAT 2011. The admissions criteria document recently published by six of the 13 IIMs mention the weightage that will be assigned to your scores in CAT 2011, GD, PI, Writing Ability Test (WAT), Past Academic Performance (PAP) and Work Experience (WE) for final selection.

Now we will share you the weightage that will be given to Work Experience and Past Academic Performance. Most of the IIMs are giving combined weightage to these two criteria under ‘Profile’. Most of the IIMs are giving combined weightage to these two criteria under ‘Profile’. See the table below for details:

PROFILE (WORK EXP, PAST ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE) IIM CALCUTTA 10% (8% FOR WE) IIM RAIPUR 20% IIM ROHTAK 15% IIM KOZHIKODE 15% IIM INDORE No Weightage to Candidate Profile IIM LUCKNOW 5% (PAP) + 2% WE + 3% Academic diversity factor

The new IIMs, IIM Rohtak and IIM Raipur, will be giving a high weightage of 20% to the Profile criteria. Amongst the older IIMs, IIM Calcutta will give 8% weightage to the Work Experience criteria. Interestingly at IIM Indore there will be no weightage for Profile.

The more you score in Work Experience the better. At IIM Rohtak, if you have a work experience of more than 3 years then you get a good score of 80. Less than 12 month experience will not count. Even at IIM Raipur a work experience of more than 3 years will get you maximum score for your work experience. At IIM Calcutta a work experience of more than 33 months will get you maximum score of 8.

Also in the context of Past Academic Profile, your Class X, Class XII and Graduation marks will count very much. The higher your achievements in school and college the better your chances of making it to an IIM. But the catch here is that even if you have low score in school and college, then you can work hard in CAT 2011, PI, GD, WAT to better your chances. So be Prepared now because you can be the next candidate of IIM by following these weightage.

Thanks for Visiting Skool To College
